Wow. Wow, wow, wow, wow, WOW.
The last eight weeks have been an absolute whirlwind – coming up with the idea for this course (while on vacation in California in January, strangely enough), convincing myself I could do it, putting together all the videos and material and navigating the technical side of things to host it myself… It’s been an incredible learning experience and journey that I’ve been lucky enough to share with some pretty amazing ladies (my pre-sale students, readers, the Teenies, followers, friends, etc.).
Last September, I somewhat reluctantly attended a conference called Sewing Summit here in Salt Lake City. I have to tell you that I wasn’t super keen on going because I wasn’t even sure if I wanted to keep blogging. It seemed a bit pointless to me, and I didn’t want to focus on monetizing something that was more of a fun outlet for me than anything else. But what Sewing Summit did for me was trigger a new line of thinking – a sort of questioning what I COULD do other than blogging in order to make money with my talents while still dedicating the majority of my time to my family.
I started publishing my free video tutorials without knowing where they’d take me, and ultimately, I landed on the idea for this course. I talked to some incredible women who became mentors to me, and they convinced me to go for it. Two months later, I am releasing my baby to you guys. I am excited and scared and ECSTATIC all at the same time. But mostly, I am thankful. Thankful for the comments, the answered questions, the brainstorms, the pre-sale purchases, the course reviews, the social media posts, the little bits of advice…all of it.
Without further adieu, I give you the first Pattern Workshop course – Creating PDF Patterns: From Sketch to Sale. I will let you read more about it on the product page. But suffice it to say, I think you will love it and find it incredibly helpful if you want to sell PDF sewing patterns. Whether you’re just starting out or an experienced designer, you can almost definitely benefit from this course. No, I don’t have a line of sewing patterns. But what I do have is an unyielding determination to figure things out. And figure things out I did in developing this course. In fact, I think I learned more from developing this course than in the previous 7 years of using Illustrator!
To celebrate the launch, I’m offering a little discount to anyone who would like to sign up through this weekend only. Just enter code launchparty10 during checkout to get $10 off the course. But hurry – it ends at 11:59pm MST on Sunday, March 23.
I have to end this post with lots of thank-yous: my husband, Scott, for putting up with all the long hours and missed date nights, Melissa, Rae, Karen, Elizabeth, Jennifer, Jodi, Olivia, Alicia, Celina, Rebecca, Hayley, Caroline, Maddie, Alexia, Jessica, Justine, Sarah, Rachael, Juliette, Anne, Anneliese, Vanessa, Christine, Stacey, Karly, Caila, Scary, Abby, Olga, Shannon, Farrah, Tasha, Laura, Robin, Natalie, Sabra, Abby, Miriam, Mary, Erin, Heidi, Charity…each and every one of you (and surely some I’ve forgotten) has either influenced, supported, encouraged or inspired me along the way. For the long conversations, the Facebook chats and the simple compliments or kind words, I am forever grateful.
What’s next? Well, maybe I will finally tackle that pattern line I keep threatening to create. Or maybe more courses. We shall see, my dear friends. We shall see. But for now, I will enjoy my weekend NOT making videos. And maybe I will go on that date night.
