True Bias Roscoe Blouse: Two for the Win!

Lately I seem to be making things in twos. I guess when you find a great pattern, it only makes sense, right? The Roscoe Blouse by True Bias is no exception. I made one in a lovely printed rayon challis from Joann Fabrics:

And another in a white rayon challis from Mill End here in Portland:

I had a small amount of this gorgeous lace that I purchased last year in NYC, and there was JUST enough to embellish the sleeve openings of the printed one. In fact, I had to narrow the sleeves the tiniest bit to make it work. All I did was omit the sleeve bands and just sew this right onto the fabric without cutting off any length.

I absolutely love this pattern because it’s one of the quickest things to make - seriously, like one-hour quick. The most time-consuming thing is getting the gathers at the neck and sleeves just right, but even that is easy.

I love the subtle curved hem and how great it looks with my new Birkin flare jeans (pattern coming soon!). It’s also perfect for nursing and really comfortable, too.

Thread on the pants…#sewingbloggerproblems.

My measurements matched the size 4, but I made a size 2 since there is so much positive ease and since my Southport Dress (in a size 4) is a little too big for me now. Whole30 has also been knocking down my weight and measurements, and I really want these tops to fit forever!

That’s really about all I have to say about this fabulous pattern - now go make yourself a Roscoe Blouse!

They’re so pretty! Well done :-)
When you say it’s perfect for nursing, is that because it’s quite loose so you can lift it up and have a vest under or something? I’m trying to get my head around what sort of clothes would be good for nursing (apart from nursing-specific things, which I’m not always that keen on) and I wouldn’t have considered something like this.

Love them both but especially the white one! The jeans are awesome as well. Looking forward to the pattern release!

that lace detail is so smart and i love the way it looks. Also, I think the roscoe and birkin flares are a match made in heaven. can’t wait to have my own combo.
