I have no idea if I’ll make this a regular feature on my blog. But hey - it’s Wednesday. And I’m WIPpin’ away over here. What better time to share a few of ‘em with ya?
First, my luvinthemommyhood Summer Sweater Knit Along project - Cloudy Sunday.
My mother-in-law bought me four skeins of this boucle yarn in New Zealand, and although I was a big apprehensive about it at first, it has knitted up quite swimmingly. The texture is very forgiving, and the bulky weight goes fast. It’s called Touch Exclusive and is a gloriously soft combo of mohair and merino wool. The color is a nice silver, but the core thread is lavender. Very unique and lovely.
The fit seems to be going well. I probably could have gone with an extra-small instead of a small, but I will assess that once I get the body put together. I may steek it if it seems way too big. Otherwise, it’ll be a comfy, somewhat slouchy sweater!
Next, I’ve been working on a new pattern for sale - the “Have a Hoot” hat. I’m sizing it for newborns through adults, and this prototype happens to be for toddlers. The final version won’t be quite so tall.
The body is mostly stockinette, and the eyes and trim are crocheted. It still needs a beak and pupils, obviously, but Harper has already been wearing it around the house. (She will wear anything that goes on her head. Anywhere. Anytime.)
Next up - the Ajune Pullover for Harper. I honestly keep going back and forth on this one. I have four or five skeins of this yarn, so…enough to make a toddler sweater, yet not enough to make anything substantial for me. But, I usually like chunkier knits on Harper. I am also not sure about the size. I need to do some measuring and determine if I’m going to finish or frog it. The yarn is Sirdar Snuggly Baby Bamboo DK.
Finally, I’ve been trying to figure out what I should make with these 10 (!!) skeins of Filatura Di Crosa Tempo (also brought back from New Zealand by my mother-in-law).

It’s the Concur pattern by Berroco Designs Team. What do you think? I love the ribbed bands and the sophisticated look. I normally knit more casual things, but this has a bit of a refined look to it.
Oh…one more project to add: fixing my Aidez Cardigan. Would you believe I tore this hole in it…WHILE IT WAS BLOCKING?! It was sitting on the kitchen counter drying, and I dropped a plate on it. The plate broke, and the sharp edges of the ceramic actually cut several of the stitches on the sleeve. I cried. Like, actually cried. I went ahead and tried to fix the hole when I put it together originally, but after a winter of frequent wear, the hole is back. Any advice on how to mask this without destroying the look of the sweater? I’ve even thought about fixing it and then sewing on some kind of decorative patch. Hmmm…
