Welcome to Day 2 of the Momiform MAKEover! We have four more moms ready to share their handmade looks with you today. So let’s get right to it!
Quick note: You may have noticed I didn’t send out a newsletter yesterday. The truth is that I was just exhausted and didn’t get it done! I’ll get back to it next week…hopefully. We are in the process of transitioning our little guy out of his Rock ‘N Play, and he is NOT too happy about it. Neither is mommy. 😉
Carrying on…
First up, we have Ajaire from Call Ajaire. Is it just me, or does this photo look straight off the Instagram feed of a fashion blogger?! Wow! I love the print of the top and the exquisite details of the jeans. This is a modified Scout Tee by Grainline Studio and Ginger Jeans by Closet Case Files. I’ll let you hop over to her blog to read all the details.
Next up, we have a different look from Jeanine of Scientific Seamstress. I loved that she mixed a feminine print up top with more casual, comfortable leggings on bottom. And those boots are definitely something I’d live in all winter!
Looking fabulous in navy and white, we have Beth from 110 Creations. In total she made 5 pieces; a dress, a cropped sweater, jeans (she made my own for the first time!), a top, and a slouchy cardigan. Both looks started with the Willow Wrap Dress/Top because her focus was on making nursing-friendly attire that still looked stylish. Beth’s oldest started preschool this year, and she wants to do everything I can to avoid the temptation to wear sweatpants and a hoodie to dropoff. She said, “I dress my children well, and I deserve to pay myself the same kind of attention!”
I couldn’t agree more! Looking great, Beth. And I love the comfy shoes!
And our last look for today is from Bethany from Sew-Not-Perfect. This amazing, homeschooling mama to five kids ages 10 months to 10 years made a sweater using the Moneta from Colette Patterns and their tutorial for turning it into a cropped look. I love that she upcycled the sweaters she used for this! She also made a fabulous Grainline Archer that you’ll have to click over to her blog to see.
- I live in the midwest, so the fall and winter are cold. I was going for something that would be great for soccer practice and games, trips to the pumpkin patch, etc. and that wouldn’t be as sloppy as a t-shirt and/or sweatshirt.
- I benefit from items that are easy to throw on and don’t wrinkle and/or need ironing.
- My clothes still need to be nursing friendly (my youngest is 10-months-old) which is why I made the sweater version rather than the dress.
- I have a highly damaged stomach from my pregnancies (10+cm diastasis for anyone that means something to), so I have to modify patterns to accommodate and try and mask that area.
