Lately I’ve been getting a lot of sewing done. Harper has reached this glorious age where she likes doing things on her own - playing with her babies, running around in circles, watching a show or climbing to dangerous heights on unstable furniture. She also loves creating artwork… Here are just a couple of things […]

Things that are happening.
Well first, there’s this. My sweater design for KnitPicks is ALMOST ready for testing! At least it’s knitted. Now, I just have to let it dry. Seam it. Photograph it. Grade the pattern. Make tutorial videos. Have it tech edited. Sign up testers. Have it tested. Edit the pattern if necessary. And then, you know, […]
Cloudy Sunday Sweater…Finished!
My first sweater for the upcoming fall/winter season (and for luvinthemommyhood’s summer sweater knit along), Cloudy Sunday, is DONE! And I absolutely love it. This gorgeous boucle yarn was gifted to me by my mother-in-law, and at first, I was a bit apprehensive.
Hot Air Balloons and Finger Paints
We had the most fun Saturday in the history of Saturdays this weekend. Last week, I bought Harper some art supplies including sidewalk chalk, jumbo crayons and…FINGER PAINT!
Harper’s Sweetheart Dress - Tutorial by luvinthemommyhood
Over the past few weeks, I’ve had the absolute pleasure of working with luvinthemommyhood to grade the Sweetheart Dress pattern seen here. Shannon has had the tutorial up for a while, but she will soon be rolling out an actual pattern for those less inclined to work from scratch. As part of the process of […]
Harper’s One-Year Birthday Party
Clearly I am running a little behind with posting since Harper’s birthday party was almost two months ago, but as you can imagine, the last few weeks have been a little hectic. I had so much fun at Harper’s birthday party - more than I ever expected. It pretty much went without a hitch, and […]
Miscarriage.
Last week I joined the millions of women who have experienced the loss of a pregnancy. We found out I was pregnant just a few weeks ago. I hadn’t really been keeping track of my periods for whatever reason, but one Sunday afternoon, I realized it had been quite a while since Aunt Flo visited. […]
Happy Father’s Day! And a Scrabble Tiles DIY…
First things first: Happy Father’s Day! We are taking it easy over here today since, well, this isn’t Scott’s first Father’s Day. Harper was born just after Mother’s Day last year, but she made it just in time for Scott to be able to celebrate his first in 2011. Actually, the reason we are taking […]
What We Wore: Kami’s Baby Shower
The cute. There is too much. Scott and I ask each other on an almost daily basis where she got it all. Seriously, this parenting thing keeps getting better and better. Harper has gotten to be so much fun - she is more like a little buddy now than this little helpless thing who needs […]
My Nine-Month-Old Toddler (Almost!)
Harper turned nine-months-old on March 5. I am in absolute amazement at the little girl she’s becoming. A few updates: She finally figured out how to crawl. It is adorable. She puts one leg out to the side to propel herself in the right direction (a new thing, since previously she always went backwards and […]
Crying it out…and other madness.
So, a lot’s been going on in the last couple weeks here at the Dahl house… First, I am cranking along on the design of my sewing pattern for cloth-diapered baby pants - The Baby Got Back Leggings. They are turning out really stinking cute, and I’m super excited. Harper wore one of the prototypes […]
