Momiform MAKEover: Day 3

Are you having as much fun as I am seeing all these great Momiform MAKEovers? Ready for some more?! Here we go! First up is Jess from If Only They Would Nap. She says, "I tend to be a jeans and t-shirt kind of mom. I like to be comfy as I'm homeschooling and chasing after all my active boys! So I decided to elevate my usual jeans and tee, while staying super comfy and easy to wear at home. Still t-shirt and jeans, but it looks and feels more put together."

Next, Annika of Näh-Connection created this fabulous outfit. She says, "I sewed the Grainline Morris Blazer and Else dress by Schneidernmeistern. Both are knit pieces (and thus comfy like pjs), but at the same time give a put together look. I will wear both garments a LOT during this fall."

Momiform MAKEover: Day 2

September 23, 2015

Welcome to Day 2 of the Momiform MAKEover! We have four more moms ready to share their handmade looks with you today. So let's get right to it!

Quick note: You may have noticed I didn't send out a newsletter yesterday. The truth is that I was just exhausted and didn't get it done! I'll get back to it next week...hopefully. We are in the process of transitioning our little guy out of his Rock 'N Play, and he is NOT too happy about it. Neither is mommy. ;)

Carrying on...

First up, we have Ajaire from Call Ajaire. Is it just me, or does this photo look straight off the Instagram feed of a fashion blogger?! Wow! I love the print of the top and the exquisite details of the jeans. This is a modified Scout Tee by Grainline Studio and Ginger Jeans by Closet Case Files. I'll let you hop over to her blog to read all the details.

Next up, we have a different look from Jeanine of Scientific Seamstress. I loved that she mixed a feminine print up top with more casual, comfortable leggings on bottom. And those boots are definitely something I'd live in all winter!

Looking fabulous in navy and white, we have Beth from 110 Creations. In total she made 5 pieces; a dress, a cropped sweater, jeans (she made my own for the first time!), a top, and a slouchy cardigan. Both looks started with the Willow Wrap Dress/Top because her focus was on making nursing-friendly attire that still looked stylish. Beth's oldest started preschool this year, and she wants to do everything I can to avoid the temptation to wear sweatpants and a hoodie to dropoff. She said, "I dress my children well, and I deserve to pay myself the same kind of attention!"

I couldn't agree more! Looking great, Beth. And I love the comfy shoes!

And our last look for today is from Bethany from Sew-Not-Perfect. This amazing, homeschooling mama to five kids ages 10 months to 10 years made a sweater using the Moneta from Colette Patterns and their tutorial for turning it into a cropped look. I love that she upcycled the sweaters she used for this! She also made a fabulous Grainline Archer that you'll have to click over to her blog to see.

Here are some facts about Bethany's lifestyle she took into consideration (in her words):

I live in the midwest, so the fall and winter are cold. I was going for something that would be great for soccer practice and games, trips to the pumpkin patch, etc. and that wouldn't be as sloppy as a t-shirt and/or sweatshirt.
I benefit from items that are easy to throw on and don't wrinkle and/or need ironing.
My clothes still need to be nursing friendly (my youngest is 10-months-old) which is why I made the sweater version rather than the dress.
I have a highly damaged stomach from my pregnancies (10+cm diastasis for anyone that means something to), so I have to modify patterns to accommodate and try and mask that area.

Momiform MAKEover: Day 1

September 22, 2015

Wow! I was blown away yesterday by the number of entries and amount of support for the Momiform MAKEover series. Thank you guys so much! Without further ado, let's check out the awesome looks these moms created! (Click on any of the images below to go to these ladies' full makeover posts.) First up, we have Katie of Creative Counselor. She really went above and beyond by creating an entire mini capsule wardrobe for the challenge! She says, "I tend to fall into a huge rut when it comes to dressing at home, so I was ambitious (maybe overly ambitious) and set my goal to make a 12-piece mini-capsule for my makeover. I ended up finishing 11 of the 12 pieces, and was able to add a scarf for my 12th piece. So I have 4 pants, 4 tops, and 4 layers for a total of 64 possible outfit combinations! Go To Patterns provided the Dropje Vest for the tour, and it's probably the first piece of outerwear I have ever successfully completed. It will be a great addition to my fall wardrobe. But the crowning glory of my Momiform (for me anyway), are the Ginger Jeans I made. I did low-rise, stovepipe leg, dark wash Gingers made out of Cone Mills denim. They fit like a dream and are so comfy! So my Momiform is now completely made over and ready for fall!

I'm super impressed and I LOVE these looks! Congrats, Katie!

Next up, we have Rachel from Golden Rippy. I just love that she incorporated her kids into her photo shoot because...well...as moms, they are a part of every aspect of our lives! Rachel had some funny things to say about her pre-makeover momiform, so I'll let you hope over to her blog to read all about it. :)

Wrapping up our first day of the series is Tami of Love Notions. Tami also did a full capsule, and I simply adore these looks. The color coordination is spot-on, and she looks so comfortable but polished. Good for you, Tami!
