FOXGLOVE by Selvage Designs: Now Available for Pre-Order!

June 11, 2014

So you've probably seen the FOXGLOVE tank popping up around the internetz - I've had some amazing testers sewing them up to help me get the pattern just PERFECT. And today, I'm happy to announce the pattern is now available for pre-sale on Indiesew! But don't worry - you won't have to wait long. The official launch date is Monday, June 16. But if you pre-order, you'll get a discount on a future purchase at Indiesew.

Pre-order now on Indiesew!

FOXGLOVE will be available ONLY on Indiesew through June 29. After that initial two weeks, you can purchase it there OR in the Selvage Designs store. Affiliates will also be able to use their links to send friends and family to FOXGLOVE at that time.

So let me tell you a little about this pattern. Obviously it's for a racerback tank with a hi-lo hem. But that's only the beginning. There are SO many ways to customize this tank to your liking - AND you can use knit OR woven fabric!

Worried that the front might be a little short? Yeah, I get that. It's designed to hit at high hip on a 5'6" woman with a B-cup bust. But if that ain't you, no sweat. I've got you covered:

Want to know the finished measurements of the tank so you can be ABSOLUTELY sure you're making the right size? Done. (Click on the image for a larger view.)

Want to print just a size or two? Maybe one size for the knit version and a larger size for the woven? Yep, you can do that, too, with the nifty layers feature.

Or maybe you're just sick of the same old boring sewing experience and want to have some FUN! The pattern includes instructions for that, TOO!

What are you waiting for? Hop on over to Indiesew to pre-order FOXGLOVE now. And next week, you'll be seeing the #foxglovetank pop up all over the place! And stay tuned, I'll be sharing some photos from my awesome testers in the next few days. :)

Summer of Soleil: Roundup #6!

June 10, 2014

Okay. I promise I have something OTHER than SOLEIL dresses coming very soon. Like, later this week. Promise. Good stuff. But in the meantime, wow. I am still just blown away with the creativity and talent that my blog tour participants are demonstrating in theses SOLEILs!

First up, the featured image above is by Sabra of Sew a Straight Line. The fabric she used is one of my favorites, and I love her daughter's little sandals! Adorable! You can read the full post with pics here.

Next, we have Hayley's version at Welcome to the Mouse House. Hayley makes the most beautiful clothes for her equally beautiful little girl, Ainsley. Click through to see the rest of her photos!

Oh my...look at that SASS! Emily from Lady and the Gents made this - her second SOLEIL - out of this gorgeous floral knit. I just love the white ribbing and how she styled the whole look! Check out the full post here!

Next up, the incredibly talented (AND FUNNY) Mie from Sewing Like Mad made this version. I adore the yellow stripes and the unexpected pop of color in the ribbing. And look at how the dress matches those leaves...was that intentional?!

Finally, this geometric gem was put together by Farrah at Mingo and Grace. Her entire blog is drool-worthy, so definitely hop over to check out the entire post and photos.

Have you purchased your SOLEIL dress pattern yet? No? Well then get to it! You can find it here in the Selvage Designs shop.

Summer of Soleil: Week 3 Roundup

May 19, 2014

I'm back again with some more fabulous SOLEIL by Selvage Designs dresses! You guys are seriously blowing me away with all the cuteness on Instagram (#soleildress) and in my blog feed. Thanks so much to all of you sharing your work! First up today, we have Anneliese from Aesthetic Nest. Anneliese creates the most adorable things for her three girls, and this dress is no exception. I loved how she added sleeves to make this dress comply with her school's dress code, and the fabric is just divine! (Side note: you can swipe up some of that awesome fabric here!)

Next, we have Maria from Creative Needle and Thread. Her work is featured in the main image for this post, and here's another beautiful shot.

Olga from Kid Approved made this version for cooler weather. I LOVE how she layered the dress over a long-sleeved shirt. This really is a versatile pattern for all seasons!

Chelise made this fabulous version inspired by her daughter's favorite theme song, Let It Go. Don't you just love it??! It's edgy and modern but still perfect for the Frozen fan in your life. :)

And finally, Cherie of You and Mie altered the pattern slightly to come up with this amazing color-blocked version. I am loving solid colors a lot lately, so this one really appeals to me! One thing Cherie noticed is that when using jersey (instead of ribbing) for the edging, the strips should be cut a little wider since the fabric narrows when stretched. Great tip!!

Have you made a Soleil dress yet? You can grab the pattern here in the Selvage Designs shop!

Do these drawers scare the hell out of anyone else? This one is sitting on the ground in front of the chest at @joann_stores. They seem to fall out and break constantly.
