Summer of SOLEIL: Roundup Week #2

May 11, 2014

Remember that dress sewing pattern I designed a few weeks ago? The Soleil? Yes?! Great! Because I have a couple more to show you today from my blog-tour(ish). First up are these lovely two versions (see featured photo above) made by Sew Happily Ever After for her beautiful daughters. Linda is hosting a giveaway for one copy of the pattern on her blog, so be sure to hop over there and check it out!

Next up, the lovely and talented Mel of Filles a Maman created these two black, white and yellow versions for her adorable girls. One of them is shown in the featured image for this post. And here's the other one:

Can you say DROOLING? What gorgeous dresses and girls!

Have you gotten your copy of the SOLEIL dress by Selvage Designs yet? You can read more about it (along with lots of helpful reviews) and purchase here!

For 25 years I have hated this nose. I can still remember standing in the playground in fifth grade and hearing "Nose!" "Witch!" "Gonzo!" It plagued me through middle and high school, but I accepted the fact that I was just ugly, and that was it. I handled it better in my 20s and kind of owned it - I kept my hair short and developed a loud, (obnoxious) funny personality to cover up my insecurities. I partially credit this nose for making me the strong person I am today, and making the decision to say goodbye has been a difficult one. However, I'm ready for people to see past the nose and through to me. I don't want to hide and wince when I see profile photos. With all that said, my nose will be looking a little/lot different after next week. I'm posting this publicly because it will be obvious to most of my followers. I am not offended one bit if you think I will look better with a different nose (so do I!). And it's also cool if you think my nose is unique and/or striking as it is (i get that, too). The fact is that I'm ready to say goodbye. I'll also be having a little work done to reconstruct what having and feeding three babies has done to my body (specifcally: my now-non-existent chest) but that will be a few weeks out. I may blog more about all this. But this will do for now. 😊 Please keep judgmental comments to yourself if you have them. I am done with all that, obviously.
