I've been noticing a huge number of raglan tees on the streets and on the web lately. It seems they've taken over as the t-shirt of the moment. I have to say, that makes me insanely happy. I don't know what it is about this armhole shape, but I find it quite flattering on most body types. It's also very comfortable and gives a vintage-casual, relaxed look to any outfit. I only have a couple photos of this top because the lighting was just awful on the day I took these. It was cloudy and perfect when I left the house, and then, the sun came out with a vengeance. I tried to play around with the color and other settings, but I couldn't really get myself to look non alien-like in the others. I hope this works for you guys!
(Quick and shameless plug: Pattern Workshop is ON SALE this week through Sunday night at 11:59pm PST! $20 off! Hurry!)
The pattern is the Lane Raglan by Hey June Handmade. It's a great pattern that's quick and easy to sew, and I definitely recommend it. I did cut my own neck band because I do that with 90% of patterns I make due to the variability in knits. This lightweight French terry from Mood's Manhattan location has a lot of stretch but not a lot of recovery, so I needed it to be a bit shorter than what the pattern called for in order to keep the shape of the neckline.
I made a size medium with no modifications, and I am 35"-30"-38" in these photos. I am 5'6" tall.
This is the perfect top for fall - now, go make yourself a few!
