Getting Your Self-Drafted Patterns into Illustrator

November 10, 2013

You guys. I just started a post with "you guys" which means either hell has frozen over, or you really blew me away last week with your feedback on the first couple Adobe Illustrator tutorials. But seriously, thank you all so much for your kind words and encouragement. Over the weekend, I created the next tutorial. It shows you how to take hand-drawn, self-drafted patterns and get them all pretty and traced in Illustrator. Several of you complimented me last week on my ability to do a 30-minute tutorial in one take. Well, haha, this week's took me about 16 tries. You all jinxed me! The combination of my computer battery dying, a couple coughing fits, my runny nose and my husband video bombing me caused it to take all kinds of time to get this one done. But it is done. And I hope you like it.

As always, feel free to ask questions in the comments. I upgraded to Disqus this weekend because although I was responding to everyone's comments, I wasn't quite sure if anyone was actually seeing my responses. This should make the whole discussion process a lot better.

Enjoy!

Just a heads up! Tag my new username when you want to get in touch. 😊👆
@stylearc patterns are brilliant! Love the attached swatch that gives an idea of ideal fabrics. Can't wait to sew these! #sewing #isew #creativemamas #sewcialists
Fun new patterns for a new wardrobe for me! I decided I want to be a part of a team instead of working in isolation like I have for so long. I've been interviewing established real estate brokerages for the last week and am super psyched to have somewhere to wear these! And to be going back to work part-time! If I owe you an email, please be patient as I am laid-up at the moment and only using my phone.😊
